Purpose of the LANAIC Task Force on Native American Homelessness

The primary purpose of the LANAIC Task Force on Native American Homelessness is to uplift community priorities and concerns as they relate to Native American homelessness in Los Angeles County. The task force will identify areas for community learning and networking, identifying areas of needed research, and propose strategic recommendations. Equally important, the Task Force will be asked to be vocal advocates by providing public comment at various city/county homeless services meetings.

Ideal candidates

Ideal candidates possess one or more of the following qualities:

  • Native American community members with current or prior lived experience with homelessness
  • Individuals who work in community based organizations that serve Native Americans experiencing or at risk of homelessness
  • Individuals who have professional experiences working in homelessness (county, non-profit, academics, etc.)
  • Concerned community members who are interested in getting more involved
  • Expectations

  • Task Force meetings will be held once monthly (or every other month), and will last no longer than 90 minutes
  • In person attendance is ideal, but we will try to accommodate with video-conferencing when available
  • Prompt email or phone communication is expected

    Apply to join our LANAIC Task Force on Native American Homelessness. The Task Force will meet monthly in the evenings, in a location to be determined. Deadline to apply is Friday, March 15th, 2019 at 5:00 pm.
